Dockominiums usually have common areas that include amenities such as re-fueling, fish cleaning stations, washing and repair facilities. Like a condominium, a management fee that provides all required services such as security, insurance, maintenance, bookkeeping, legal and management of the dockominium facility. A monthly fee is charged to cover these expenses.

A marina is a place where boats are kept in or out of the water. Many marina's may have re-fueling, washing and repair facilities. A dry slip is where a boat is stored in a rack systems out of the water.  It helps to extends the life of the boat and protects during winter. A wet slip is where a boat is stored at a dock in the water. A dockominium is like a condominium where slips or a storage rack is owned by a individual owner.  Owner have the right to use, sell or rent their space.
